|
|
So I've been looking through alot of mags lately for my Christmas "wish list"
I've been trying to find stuff in the sub $100 range and this is one of the things i found. My question is, wtf is this? I know absolutely NOTHING about clutches and transmissions. I already have a RAM Master Grip in my car so is this somthing Id need to go along with the clutch? |

What year is your car? Most of the time the factory quadrant is just a plastic self adjusting unit under the dash. Once I had a cable break completely and when I tried to hook the cable back over the quadrant it broke one of the ears off so I had no choice but to replace the quadrant. Usually when you replace the cable you get one that is adjustable on the bottom and go with a solid quadrant up top, so as the cable stretches you just go under the car and tighten the cable. To make the chices infinitely adjustable they have up to triple hook quadrants and firewall adjusters (so you can tighten the cable without going under the car), even micro click firewall adjusters, and they have quick release style quadrants. To give you different options on how the clutch is engaged they can play with the curve of the quadrant to make the clutch increase quicker or slower.
I just happen to have a triple adjustable quadrant in the classifieds for sale for $15.00 _________________ www.D3RACING.com

yeah, get the firewall adjuster. easy to adjust right under your hood, gets you the right feel you want. very easy to deal with _________________

Yes do this. I put in a new quadrant, firewall adjuster, adjustable cable, and even the clutch pedal adjuster. The pedal adjuster is nice for tall people like me. Lowers the pedal a bit more so now mine is sitting right next to the brake pedal rather than above it. I've heard some bad things about adjustable cables, but haven't had any problems yet. _________________

| I loved mine. Gets rid of that rubbery feel in the pedal since the cable bushing is removed to make room for the firewall adjuster and that plastic quadrant won't be there to flex anymore. I used the OEM clutch cable, I didn't really care for the adjustable one. FYI when do a quadrant you have to have either a firewall adjuster or adjustable cable or both. |

Yea it's really easy. This is one of those easy installs we can do at some one's house on a mod day. If that ever happens. _________________

| its an easy mod, but a PITA IMO since you basically have to lay on your back under the dash to see what your doing. |

I took out the driver seat and put my feet in the back seat. Made it a lot easier then wiggling my way in past the seat. _________________
