December is that pain in the butt time where I have to get my car all prettied up for inspection. I'm gonna have to buy a set of untinted tail lights to swap in for me to use for only one day a year now. What a waste. Also, will they fail you if you have a check engine light on? If so I'll have to finally get that looked at. And My ABS light has been on since I swapped in the 8.8 rear. I kind of messed up the rubber coating when I was swapping the ABS sensors.
Next question, where would you guys recommend I go to get the check lights serviced? I know you guys don't like Sanders Ford. Besides they charge $80 just for looking at it, on top of everything else. _________________

i think they will fail you if the engine light is on but im not completely sure, but about having your light checked, have you taken it to autozone? theyll read the code for free, and then you can fix it yourself. _________________

Yea I heard they do. And then I could just look in my Chilton manual to see what the code means. I'll stop by there tomorrow maybe. Still need to get the ABS sensor looked at and get new tail lights. I freaking hate inspection. _________________

| Your tail lights shouldn't be too much trouble. Take it in and see if they'll pass. If not you have like 30 days to get it redone without it costing you anymore. As long as the check engine light is on though you will not pass. |

Yea they wouldn't even look at my car last time because it had tinted tails. So I swapped lights with a buddy for the day. So I know that will fail. And I'll just get the engine light looked at soon I guess. _________________

Autozone will read the code for free, as well as tell you what the code is. They did for the Contour, at least. _________________ America promised us freedom; Ford gave us the keys.

| I do state inspections and it all depends on the shop as for the tail lights and ABS light. But if the car is 96 or newer then yes the check engine light had to be off and all the readyness codes have to be reset. |

Well I got the Check engine light fixed, swapped in new ABS sensors in the rear and the ABS light is gone, and swapped in the new untinted tail lights. Car's ready for inspection only to find out that for some reason, my car is due in April of 2010, rather than December like it usually is. But i did find out from the guy at the inspection place that my smoked headlights are not DOT approved and are an automatic fail. _________________

If you're asking about the lights, Yea I think they are. I love the way they look. I'll find a cheap pair of lights on eBay and swap them for inspection. Then I'll always have back up pair of head and tail lights atleast. Or if I can't find them cheap enough I'll just ask if anyone wants to swap for a day. _________________
