If it's the front bearing, it would still be making noise until your clutch is fully engaged.

The front bearing in mine is whining like a bitch...been whining like one since I bought the car in August. Hasn't stopped my from driving to Rawlee or driving it everyday.

Like I said; I'll change mine mine when I get around to upgrading to a new clutch and 26 spline input shaft.

FWIW, I'll prolly change it myself.

The TOB noise goes away when I barely touch the clutch, but this other noise, like I said before is more faint and I can hear it coming from the shifter. It doesn't go away with clutch engaged or not.

I got your message Chris....... Sorry I didn't get back up with you I was side tracked with my engine all night. I'll listen to your car I don't think its a bad input shaft bearing. Even it if is I can help you install a new bearing. Don't know about the T45 but the T5 input shaft bearing is easy to change and they are basically the same trans.

Thanks jeff, I am still going to change out the TOB and Clutch. I will try to find a input shaft bearing too. The guy at Pro bilt Transmisson seems to thing that is the "other" noise I can here. I am just alittle weary of driving it alot or very far at all. I will let you know when I have all the hardware. I know with your motor swap you will be busy but let me know when you will be free.

Really want to thank Scott for helping me out with install the clutch, pilot bearing and TOB yesterday. Also Jeff and Stacey for letting us use the shop at the last minute, would have been a crappy day doing on jack stands. Scott is the man and know his way around sn95's, I felt like I was more in the way if anything and I never had the lux of using air tools which was like speaking french for me. At one point, I just dropped the air gun on the ground like it was a freaking wrench (sorry jeff) cause ain't use to being careful with air tools. So far clutch feels really good, TOB isn't squeaking but I am still hearing "tranny" noise that I can't figure out. I hate gremlins you can't figure out! Oh well at least the clutch is done, agian thanks for all the help Scott, I owe you big! How is the finger dude?

It's all right- I got a perfect mark of the center of a universal joint on the tip of it now lol. Glad everything went smoothly, I did notice that the input shaft had a little play so that bearing might be bad/going bad. I don't do internal transmission work to know for sure though.

I am going to take it to another tranny shop and get another opinion and have some one take it for a drive to listen to it.
