Should be in your owners manual whether its 5 or 6 qts. and whether its 5W-20 or 5W-30.
Check under the hood, the oil cap will say.

The owners manual though will say.

I am running Royal Purple in my car, I have a GT and it loves it. Pretty sure your Cobra will love it just as much, since your car revs in a higher range than mine does.

Hey bro, what ever your manual says go about a half to a full quart more. Trust me if you really turn your engine hard. I know several cobra and mach owners who have turned it hard then spun the front 2 rod barrings. The heads are so big that it will hold most of the oil in the head and scavenge the pump, i have seen it numerous times

Not to doubt you guys, but I change oil for a living and adding more than reccomended is a good way to blow a valve cover gasket. Just my two cents. Another point, Castrol Syntec is a very good full synthetic oil, it costs about $1 more per quart than mobile 1 unless you get it from wal-mart, a five quart jug is $25.

I went with Mobil 1 5w-20 syn and dropped freakin $53 for 6 quarts with a filter. Forgot how nice it was to work at a shop and get parts at cost!

I use 6 qt's of 5W-20 Motorcraft oil in my Terminator.

I'll usually slip another qt. in it a few weeks later.

I was told years ago by a Automotive Engineer that Motorcraft's Semi-Synthetic oil is VERY good oil.

Just make sure that you don't put too thick of an oil in it, because it will spin the bearings. The bearing tolerances on the Mod Motors are for the thinner oils.

I get the 5 qt jug at Wal-Mart of Mobil 1 then pick an extra qt up, it's like $1 a qt cheaper in the 5 qt jug. I run Mobil 1 in the car and in the blower, I would change out that oil too if it has never been done, takes 15w30, just need a syringe and some aquarium tube, I change that every oil change too since it is like .2 of a qt and you spin it upwards of 10k-14k depending on the pulley's.
