Maximum Motorsports makes a really good clutch/press plate. They also sell the beefed up quadrants you are looking for as well.

I used a Centerforce in my 85, once with the 10.5" set-up and another when I went to the 11" style.

The Centerforce DFX just didn't last in the Cobra and I went to the Mcleod Twin-disc RXT.

I have seen lots of guys running Spec clutches. Mcleod claims ACT and some others just ripped off old designs of theirs.

Hows that RXT engage? I have the RST, but I'm gonna put in the RXT when the 6 speed goes in. My RST drives just like stock and has very little chatter and doesn't even do that most of the time. I know the RXT uses ceramic discs so I'm afraid its gonna be more of an on off type clutch.

I've also heard that the King cobra clutch will kill your leg, but its a really good clutch other then that.

I had a King Cobra in my 90 hatch...extremely tough clutch! but I gave it hell for 30k miles! Def would not go with it if my better half were learning how to drive.

The only clutch I can recommend is this Zoom clutch http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_High-Performance-Clutch-Set-Zoom_19770153-P_2139_R%7CGRP60006_282238485___. Its the only one I've had any expericence with in a 5.0. With the quadrant and firewall adjuster this clutch was very easy to live with. It'll hold plenty of power and you can get it locally.

Based on what I read the King Cobra is 279ish price range but is only good for 310 hp?
