Jason wanted me to put a list together for him so he can get an idea of what its gonna cost to have his engine forged so feel free to discuss what you do or don't like about this list.

-Cobra crank
-Manley or Modmax rods w/ARP 2000 rod bolts
-Manley, CP, or Diamond pistons w/12-14cc dish
-Piston rings (stainless is stronger, but moly will work)
-ARP head studs
-ARP main studs for 01 cobra with windage tray and 2 extra studs & nuts(retains OEM windage tray) or ARP bolts for 01 cobra without windage tray and get an aftermarket windage tray
-05+ OEM block (gonna need machine work)
-Main and rod bearings (I used King bearings)
-TSS billet oil pump
-OEM head gaskets and a few other gaskets
-8 bolt flywheel

Of course the rotating assembly will have to be balanced also. The top end is another story.

He didn't ask about a clutch. I wouldn't recommend my clutch to him anyhow since he'll have to upgrade his tranny in the future and you only want to buy my clutch once.

What tranny are you running Jeff? I have the 3650 right now but that is only temporary. I had to get the 10 spline disc for this tranny. thinking about the tko600 if i keep the 5 speed, and then just will buy a new disc for it

TR6060 and its a sweet tranny. Don't go the t56 or tko route cause they use a remote shifter bolted to a stock GTO shifter. There's gonna be a magnum t56 coming out for our cars soon so keep that in mind. Right now the tr6060 is the best option we have.

Here's the new magnum t56 for our cars. Notice it gets rid of the remote shifter. I may eventually switch to this down the road.

Thanks for the help with this Jeff! I did forget to ask about the clutch, didnt i? I dont know when i will be able to get a transmission upgrade, so i will probably just roll on the stock one for a while. That being said, what are my options for a decent streetable clutch?

Alot of guys like the Spec 3+, but their customer service sucks and they won't back their product and blame it on install if there's problems. I used the Mcleod RST when I had a 10 spline tranny and now I'm using the Mcleod RXT which is IMO as good as it gets. Lighter then stock pedal pressure and driveablity is almost as good as OEM and is rated at 1000hp. Who can argue with that.

Nope, it'll be in my garage until it comes time to install.
