Previously MIL eliminators have been used, but I've heard on S197's that no longer applies. Don't know if this is true or not, but I'm not trying to spend $60 to test it. I went a different route. Used spark plug non-foulers to move the sensor out of the exhaust stream. Guess what...... this actually works. Checked my readiness monitors today and all 6 came up ready and no CEL. I'm gonna post in the "How to" section as soon as I get pics of it since I now know for a fact it works.

I didn't know if it worked or not either, but my inspection is due soon so I needed to make sure I could pass. $8 and a few minutes with a drill and I was done. Worked great!

Be sure to remember that the inspector is supposed to raise the car off of the ground to visually check for the cats also.

I'll stick w/ the home state that require no inspection. One less thing to deal with

If they do it right. Never had anyone inspect the bottom of my car. Besides I still have the hollow casing. This wasn't purposely done its just how things worked out.

Best bet is to go with a small mech shop that is also an inspection station that doesnt do much revenu with the inspections. They are more prone to run you through the procedure without raising the car off the ground or checking the window tint. Good luck!

Think long and hard about running cats. I've heard of plenty of guys losing an engine to failed cats. What happens is the cats melt and the exhaust can't escape with causes backpressure. Well the more backpressure the more boost. More boost could = BOOM! I'm fortunate. My cats melted at the track, but I figured it out before the boom. My 15psi pulley was making 18+.
