The car in the picture is a friend of mine that borrowed my rims and tires.

He launched around 4000 rpms and ran an 11.01 in that picture.

Yeah, I knew it wasn't your ride, just wondering if I should worry about my axles using slicks. But if your using them and having no problems, then I may just give it a try.

Cheap route to fix wheel hop is to use bags in the rear springs...
Air them up to about 25psi...

I will race just on street tires for awhile. I have to drop alittle cash on ponygurls turbo install and tunning so after that I am pretty tapped out. My car needs two new front tires and a camber adjustment so the plan is to move my current rear tires which have a ton of tread to the front and then buy the 17X10.5 cobra rear rims and go with a Nitto 305 or 315 wide tire. Broke ass city for a while after that. But not to race this car is sin, just gotta race smart for awhile. And I will make a couple of passes with the MT just don't expect me to go balls to the wall all the time!

Basically was just wondering if the I can get away with some passes on my slicks, sounds like I should be okay.

Slicks should be ok. What everybody seems to be running when they break halfshafts are drag radials. Be careful on regular radials also; guys have broke halfshafts on them also. The radial has a stiff sidewall and causes the rear of the car to wheel hop since they don't absorb the shock. The bias ply tires tend to absorb the shock and not wheel hop.

I don't know everything about these cars, but in the year since I've bought mine, I've learned a lot.
