If you spin under full throttle in 1st find a sweet spot in the throttle where your on the verge of breaking the tires loose. Hit second fast, but not hard to keep from blowing the tires loose and apply the throttle quickly when you feel confident the traction is there. Get this down and you'll see the track has more traction to offer then the street. I ran 12.04 on street tires praticing like this. |
I have been doing this the last two mornings going to work, there is a nice little straightaway that I stop at (when the coast is clear) and practiced launching. Been alittle easy on the launches trying to see if i can get to pull hard but not spin. I will keep you tips in mind Jeff, thanx. _________________

First pass was 12.9 @113 on street tires!!!!!!! VERY HAPPY!!! Followed by a 13.07(racing mark) then 13.3 (racing heater ), then 12.9 (racing a vette). Had one poor run of 13.8 but the car has a tune issue that show'd it ugly face on that run. Never ran MT's, didn't bring them tonight. _________________

Getting a good launch is a pain on street tires. It either wheel hopped or wasn't getting traction. 60 ft's was in the 2.1-2.3 range. I know with the MT's I can cut 1.8-1.6 which means 12.5's or lower _________________
