Holy hell waxing a car is a pain in the ass. I've never done it before and decided to give the mustang a good clean and wax today.

I figured why not since I had to clean all the road salt off of it from maryland.

I picked up some turtle wax black box kit shit. Like a two step treatment/wax for black cars.

Well like 4 hours later and I'm finally done. Took me so long I did the last half of the car by headlamp. But atleast I realize now that a headlamp in the dark will really really really show you every scratch you didn't know you had in your car.

But anyways, long story short......
Took me forever, cant really tell a damn bit of difference. Hopefully it helps with water spots and shit like that but kind of sucks to do all that shit for hours on end not to see any difference.....

Probably just me though

I did it in straight lines, I just followed what the box said to do really.

I knew it wouldn't look a whole lot different but I'd figure a slight improvement with a little more mirror and a lot more protection from water spots and crap like that.....

O well

And that's why you will never see me do this kind of stuff. I mean kudos to you guys for giving it a shot, but I'll stick to the auto car wash for now and spend my time working on the car. But I did take a cloth to my wheels today and clean them up a bit. hehe

I normally do the car wash myself. Well I at least go and get it done by the people who wipe it down and crap.

I don't mind washing it and never waxed a car before so I figured I'd give it a try.

If it wasn't so damn tedious I'd do it on the side to make extra cash.......course your responsible if you eff up someone's paint

i use Eagle spray and whipe mostly for my random cleaning. But once a year, the day before or day that i leave for Mustang Week, i wax my car. Usually spend a couple hours doing it and get my pre-MW sunburn started.

A 10" random orbital makes quick work of waxing Wink I have a craftsman one if you want to borrow it sometime. You can also use it to apply compound before you wax and help take out the swirls and scratches. All in less time than it takes to just hand wax

Yeah I've been researching this now for a few hours. I want to get into it.
Seems I need to pick up a porter cable 7424 and some pads and go from there.

I think this weekend I'll re wash it, then use the polish compounds, clay the car, wax the car, then use some sealent and see how it turns out.

you shouldn't need to hit you car with a clay bar yet. Shouldnt need anything like that as new as your paint is.
