| Tossing around the idea of putting a twin screw on the Cobra or even the hellraiser kit. What's everyone's opinion on what I should get. Thinking about KB 2.8H, Whipple 2.9L, or the Hellion Hellraiser. The KB and Whipple are about the same price, but the Hellraiser kit is $7500 which is almost what I paid for the whole car so I'm not liking that idea. If I do upgrade my FI I'm leaning towards the 2.9L Whipple right now. What does everybody else think? |

| Yeah and if I spend that kinda money on a supercharger I'm gonna get the hellraiser kit. The screw blowers I'm looking at are under $4000. |

$7500 is without any upgrades, they are sick though, some guys don't agree with the compound boost idea.
The 2.8 is a proven performer.
I have only seen one set of numbers for a 2.9 on a Cobra and that was a built motor, with cams, making 19#, it made 727 hp, no one has posted any numbers of stock motor yet, hell Whipple doesn't even list it on their website for the 03/04's still. I emailed Jared at Lethal over a week ago since they are the largest Whipple Dealer in the country and have gotten no response on what they actually make for power. Have seen 5.4's making over 640 hp at 14 lbs of boost. Whipple gives a 5% discount to Military too.
Another option is always the Lysholm 3.3 it fits under a stock hood too. _________________ www.D3RACING.com

You'll need alot more then you think to put a factory eaton on your car, but if your wanting to do it you can get the eaton. |

The kenny or whip would be best route but it really depends on what your plans for the car are. Full track car? For a street car I would use a twinscrew for sho. Turbo's are nice but for daily driving your not going to get into boost often unless your drive to work includes a highway. Then again with compound boost there is no lag soooooo? _________________

This is the only 2.9 Whipple installed on a Cobra that I know of, at least 5 people on SVTP claim to have bought them over the past 3.5 months but no one has posted numbers.

I've always liked the kb. Never heard any complaints but saw really good numbers, on paper and on the track. I would have to say kb. _________________ JDawg22

I have a 2.3 Whipple.
I thought about putting a bigger blower on the car at one time; but from what I had read/researched a bigger blower on a stock engine is not as efficient as a smaller blower. Now when you bump up engine size, or push the boost up then the bigger blowers start to shine.
A friend of mine had a KB 2.8 Mammoth with a stock motor. It made real good numbers on the dyno; but it felt kind of laggy down low as compared to my 2.3, and he was on 24psi where I'm on 18.
LoL, another friend of mine has a ported Eaton car that I've driven a couple of times and it makes my car feel laggy compared to it. Difference between it and the 2.3 is it runs out of breath where the 2.3 just keeps pulling to red line.
My friend Matt has a 2.2 Kenne Bell Cobra, and the next time I see him, I might hit him up to let us swap cars so I can compare how they feel. Performance wise; his car and mine are kind of close. |
