I'm looking to change out the original plugs & wires, can someone recommend a good replacement? Looking to spend less $150. _________________

you dont have plug wires. You have coil packs. If your looking to replace your coil packs, you can look to spend $300 for a good set. _________________

Doh. I was looking at American Muscle for this stuff and saw plug wires and the coil packs. Didn't notice until now that the wires are for a V6.
I'll have to talk to the wife about spending more then, lol.
I'm currently looking at purchasing some NGK G-Power Platinum Performance Spark Plugs and Accel Super Coil On Plug Kit (99-04 GT). _________________

how many miles do you have on your car?if you have more than 100k i would change out the coil pack. if you have less than that and if the coil packs are still good i wouldnt mess with them. the plugs on the other hand i would use the ngks.

I have the accel coil packs and they work well on my supercharged engine. i run the NGK iridiums and have had no problems so far with them. _________________ "Built not Bought"

I have just under 44K on the car. I just figured I'd do the packs as well. _________________

I know people with over 160k mile on 2v mod motors with stock coil packs and over 500 hp on stock coil packs. Scott had Wepon Xs on his car and like 3 of them went out in no time. He said there was some kinda problems with them. Maybe he'll chime in on this. _________________

I went ahead and got the spark plugs and I'll wait until later (more mileage or add ons that require it) for the coil packs. _________________

To tell you the truth I wouldn't replace the OEM coils for ANYTHING. Spend your money elsewhere. Even if all 8 of them were bad I would go straight to Ford and order 8 new coils even though it would cost way more then aftermarket ones.

i agree on the stock coil packs as well. those are very sensitive and expensive. if there is nothing wrong with them dont touch it.
