well it looks like i have no choice but to change it out now...my battery light stopped popping on after i got a new battery for it and my wife has been driving my cobra since she hit a dear and her car was at the body shop well yesterday she calls me and tells me my car wont start...it gets towed home today and my battery is dead....so im going to pull my battery and alternator tomorrow and have them both tested....im this close l lfrom swearing off of mustangs for good...for some reason i always have problems with them _________________ 2010 Silver Member

how many miles is on it? sorry ur have issues but hopefully it is just general wear in tear stuff............alternators will go bad u know. _________________

| Yeah man it's just how it is. These cars are known for alternators going bad. It's said they overheat because of a bad location with little airflow. Do it right the first time and get an OEM alternator. PM me and I'll get you a price on one. |

yeah i know but god if it isnt one thing its another with every mustang iv have ever owned im just sick and tired of buying a car and having something go out on it....if i have any more problems im buying a civic _________________ 2010 Silver Member

I just replaced the alternator on mine two weeks ago. I bought a Napa lifetime warranteed one instead of the Ford Motorcraft replacement. The Motorcraft only comes with a 1 year warranty and I figured that I would roll the dice.

It's easier with the battery and battery tray out from up top; but you'll have to get under the car to get it out.
It was easier to pull the plastic flap away from the fenderwell and take it in and out through it. |
