| People gave me a rash when I put a volt gauge in my 2nd pod on my dash; but I had read up about the alternator problem when I bought my car and so when my alternator quit working I knew that it was the alternator and not the battery (btw mine still has the factory Motorcraft battery). |

iv been thinking of doing that i replaced the battery about 2 weeks ago that fixed the light from turning on and i thought that was the problem. The light only came on when i started it up first thing in the morning when i would drive to work and then it would shut off after a couple of minuets _________________ 2010 Silver Member

| When you have your alternator tested it'll probably show ok. Like I said before it's the overheating causing it not to work correctly. When mine was going bad I could still drive the car and voltage was just fine. I knew it was going bad because I got on it one day and the car felt like a dog and my wideband stayed around 14.7 and wouldn't go below it at all. Also when I used my lights at night after driving the car for about an hour my dash lights would dim. |
