So to add to the long list of things going wrong with my '02 Vert, I think I'm going to need a new clutch, clutch cable and whatever else I may need to install all of this. Everytime I push the clutch pedal, it sounds like the clutch or something is grinding like crazy and it's loud. So here's my questions...

1) What's causing this sound?

2) What clutch (clutch kit) would you guys recommend for me and my car?

It's your TOB probably. Clutch recommendation is gonna be based on what your looking for. Are you looking for a stock replacement or a clutch that can hold 1000 hp? How much do you want to spend? Is a light pedal important to you? Is some clutch chatter ok or do you want it to be as smooth as the OEM unit?

I'd recommend an aftermarket quadrant, firewall adjuster, and OEM clutch cable to go along with the new clutch if you don't already have them. Also look into getting the Ford Racing HD throw out bearing.

Yep ^^^^ The Spec 2 or 3 would be your best bet, only wondering what your next plans are. Don't waste your money on a smaller clutch just to replace it when you do upgrades and it is still relativly new. Just a burn of money. How many miles is on it?

Okay, so after I left the track on Friday, I started getting a slight squealing sound and it started to get harder to shift, and that grinding sound got louder. It gradually got worse up until today when I finally took it to Crom's over on Piney Green. One of the mechanics listened to it and said that the springs in my pressure plate were going out and that's why it was getting harder to shift and all the grinding and squealing was the clutch going bad. So, I guess I'm going to start shopping for a new clutch and get that Ford Racing HD throw out bearing that Jeff advised me to get.

I don't need anything that extreme, I'm not planning on going 11s anytime soon. I'm keeping her NA for a while as well. Forced induction gets expensive. Lol.

This is pretty cheap for the strength its giving you man.

Probably would never have to change the clutch again lol. Do it right the first time so you dont have to do it again. I made the mistake and I payed for it by pulling my tranny out 5 times lol

Thanks for all the advice guys, especially D3. I talked to Blake at Holcomb and he got me a Spec 2 for a good price. I'm going tonight to go pick it up.
If I have to wait until payday to install it, I'm also going to go pick up that Ford Racing HD TOB from Sanders.

Another question, how hard is it to do a clutch swap? If I can do this myself, it will save me a lot of time and money. Any input or extra hands are appreciated.

Do it yourself, I did mine with four jack stands and a floor jack. And I mean by myself.

I took my time, can easily be done in a few hours if you have everything there, I did my 85's at the hobby shop once too.
