you gotta pay to play. when ppl bought what ever mods they have, they should expect the worst and be prepared for it. _________________

I have seen them try to void warranties for cold air intakes or even a k&n filter in the stock airbox. _________________

this is what I don't understand. I hear that if the issue you bring it in for has something directly relating to a mod you have done to the car, I can agree with that. But if your trans goes out and you bring it in for warranty and they turn you down because you have BMR suspension, that's what makes me scratch my head in confusion. _________________

| I know that GM has been looking at PCM calibrations when you bring in a vehicle for engine work espically for a diesel. A tune will leave a footprint in the pcm. |

I thought that even in the new mustangs the tunes don't leave foot prints..... I know they do in diesels as this topic has been absolutely blown up in other forums and several diesel mechanics spoke up about it. But also a few ford techs spoke up about the mustangs and said there is no foot print for simply tuning only a record of codes that might result from a bad tune. _________________

| There's no footprint in our computers showing it's been reflashed. Good thing too. Chevymec is right though they've been using it for years in GM cars. |

The guy that use to do the transmissions in our jacksonville store would tell every clucth or trans problem that they were racing it just because it was a mustang. The only reason he did it was to make more money.Warranty dosen't pay good on some things. You can ask hardlivewire I'm not that way. _________________

^^^^ They tried to tell me that about my clutch assembly......... and then tried to act like the 5.0's weren't having clutch problems.
Changed there tune when I let them know I wasn't an idiot. _________________

OP hey it's Albert the other broken car guy. Since we last spoke I took the car to Al Packer up north, got a guy there that knows his shit. Nothing can be done. Maroone Ford of Miami made it a point to FUCK me as bad as they possibly can. Me and my car are "black flagged" in the system. Now my tuner just talked to his Ford Racing guy and he say that it's gotten so bad that if a car goes into service for ANYTHING, and the car has an intake on it they will connect the scan tool and check mode 9. If the flash counter is different they WILL VOID THE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY!!!
saw this on the s197forums looks like its getting pretty bad now. Good luck with getting away with adding mods to the new 5.0 |
