I do agree the more extensive the mods the more you need a dyno but also have you ever seen guys at the track (race teams or shops) making passes then open up a laptop to make adjustments? They are fine tunning for the real world conditions to max the cars potential that day..........you can't do that on a dyno! _________________

| Key words. "Years of experience" in a ouststanding shop, that puts their name on the line. Not a shade tree operation. You are happy with what you have. Drive the car till you get use to it, then figure out what you want to do. |

I've been in the Mustang performance business for about 15 years, seen the thick and thin of it all. Lund is a name i've heard on the regular for all of this time. That would be years of experience i'd say, my time around it has been minute in comparison. _________________

I would have taken it and like chris said tried it out at fastlane. then you could have both. lund and fastlane tunes, the ultimate, no matter on numbers, would be track test. you can have big numbers but shitty times, we have all seen it. A car with 300hp, can beat a car with 450hp all day long if he cant get the power to the ground. That was the biggest problem with the Mach as joey knows after the dyno tune. Had good power but was like ice skating. _________________ [img][/img]

Yes I'm sure I will have that problem too, since I had that problem before the tune. I definitely have some practicing to do and with some decent tires.
Lethal screwed up the order so I probably could still get it but I really don't even want to deal with them. Lol.

I don't think a dyno is necessary but it is definitely a very important tool to get a baseline especially when you are talking about getting into extensive modifications. Most race teams that open the laptop at the track have infinite numbers of sensors and data from the previous passes to make adjustments from. Also, before they got to the track most have been on the dyno to get a baseline. A lot of the guys I race with have thousands of passes logged with every detail from DA, to humidity, track temp, shock settings, shock travel, engine temp, driveshaft speed, wheel speed, turbo shaft speed, I could go on and on with the numbers of sensors on these cars. |
