You obviously haven't heard the right powerstroke
Seriously hope the repairs work out, just run it ragged until the warranty runs out and then send it on it's way. _________________ www.D3RACING.com

Well a little update, the 5.0 is ready to go to capital ford on Monday to get the timing components replaced. I was ready to drop it off today but when I got there, Mr. Matthews asked if I could bring it back Monday because he is currently short on techs. Life happens so I told him no problem. I can't wait for it to purr like a kitten again...or just run like it does when it is cold! Hahaha. I was trying a buy a BMW off a guy for a beater car so they wouldn't have to get me a retinal car but that deal fell thru. The funny thing is when I drove into the deanship riding in front of the building it was ticking loud and one of the salesmen said to another, "what is that noise?"I. I was going to tell him "normal engine characteristics" but he wasn't there when I was leaving. Hahaha! This is what my cars sounds like but the video doesn't do the loudness justice. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H1GXdyHN1-4

At least it doesn't sound like metal to metal contact; that would be real bad.

The noise is loudest from the top of the engine. Mostly near the front drivers side. It gets louder with an engine load like when you first take off from a stop or go into reverse. The knock sound, and this is coming from the master tech, sounded like it is coming front the middle of the engine but that is a knock sound and not the tick. Oh, and that was just a video I found on YouTube. That isn't my car but my tick sounds EXACTLY like his.

Well I got off the phone about an hour ago with rusty Matthews at capital ford and he said I would be able to pick up my car tomorrow evening but...the timing tensioner components tsb didn't fix the loud metallic tick but made it a little quieter than before. Therefore they are also doing the tsb for the lower end engine knocking by changing my stretchy belt system over to a conventional serpentine belt system. I hope it is fixed tomorrow or I know what will be going next...but double thumbs up to capital ford of Wilmington for stepping up and helping a ford owner out. More news to come tomorrow.

So let me just start off by saying.....CAPITAL FORD OF WILMINGTON IS THE BEST DEALERSHIP AROUND!!!!!!!!! THE TICK IS FIXED!!!! they had to do the timing components tsb and the stretchy belt to serpentine belt tsb to get it completely back to normal. But they did it. No tick and no knock. They are top notch there at capital and are just plain awesome. I am so happy right now. If anyone else hears's of this problem tell them to go to capital or tell them about the tsbs. thank you Thomas, Brian, and rusty Matthews for all your help. I think I will now keep the car...until I upgrade!!!! Hahahahah! Finally.
