got my 4.10's installed at national speed today then a dyno tune.
287rwhp and 298rwtq not bad i guess.
anyway these 4.10's catch like crazy! perfect mod. thanks swervo for em. appearantly the guy had a hrd time takin my old ones out. there was rust on the pinion under a bearing and it was stuck there. there is no other evidence of rust anywhere n the casing, but there was some on the pinion. guy was swingin a hammer for 30 min. but he ended up usin a press to take it off.
anyway if anyone was thinkin about gears and 4.10's r a possibility... get em. you will love em! _________________

You really wont know a big difference in MPG. I had them in the mach and I drove to atlanta. I averaged 21-22 mpg all the way there. I didnt get the same mileage back, though....i was kinda having fun with the turbos by then LOL.

and now i have a problem... more than usual i guess lol. but i have the live wire. and i was gonna hang with traffic until i got home then take a second to set up the gears so itll change the speedometer. so i went to the nsi tune on there, but i cant change anything on there. so then i did the custom tune real quick, i went to saved tune and changed the axle ratio to 4.10. but when it downloads the tune to the car and then tries to save the file to storage on the sct tuner, it freezes and starts clickin really fast. so i had to do a complete tune again. the hp is no big deal with the sct tune i pulled 285 on the 1st pull so taylor only got me 2 hp. but its doin the fluctuating idle and stuff like the engine doesnt recognize the mods and starts shakin. wtf!?! _________________

NSI will hav the tune saved but you may have to go back down there... Make sure you tell Taylor to unlock it this time. Were you able to turn off the traction control w/ the SCT?

actually if they are 3.55's they would give a fox body a bit of kick.... not too much but enough especially over the stock 2.73's or 3.08's

well i turned off traction control thats easy. but i let them get rid of the gears... that pinion shaft was stuck in there so bad he was beatin on it for a long time and the little 1" long threaded stub on the end of the shaft was bent he hit it so much. so even if i wanted to put the old gears back id have to buy a new set anyway. _________________

off the top of my head i cant tell ya. i might try and do somn with the tuner tonight, so ill remember the steps. but its n custom tune and then scroll down and it has traction control on the list along with axle ratio and idling neytral and everything. or mayb your tuner is slightly retarded.. didnt national speed give that away at a raffle? _________________

No I bought mine, the one that I won I sold to Chris... and the chip came loose.... but it could be me that is slightly retarded... or just overly cautious not to screw up the tune...
