the 94/95's have a two speed fan which i found out today. i kept researching my cooling problem and came across an article on stangnet that was discussing how alot of people were having an issue with the eccm(module that controls the cooling fan). I instantly dug out a spool of 12gauge wire and unplugged the fan plug and ran a hot and ground to the battery.

only my high speed was working before where the needle on my temp gauge went to the "a" in NORMAL

i tested the hot on the middle connection which is the low speed and had juice...then the high speed and had juice...turns out somewhere between the eccm and the wires to the plug, the low speed isn't working.

so i'm running a 3 switch that i can control the two. it's much cheaper than replacing the eccm which is around $150

having a problem now with the wires getting too hot from the fan. They're heating up so bad, the insulation to the wires melt.

I stepped up the gauge wire to 8 gauge and that stopped part of it. Now it's chewing through toggle switches like tooth picks. I was thinking that I could add in a relay to step down the amperage, but I think the fan in high speed pulls 60amps, and the largest I could find at Slowzone or Advance is a 45 amp relay Sad

i got 2 fans in the shop you might be able to use instead of having to "rig" your other fan... noted they arent 5.0 fans but they are factory ford fans and you could probally get them to work

You can go to Napa and see if they have anything bigger.

I think that they can get a marine relay that is bigger amperage.

Fixed! Apparently there is 2 grounds and one positive running off of the electric fan. The 2 grounds are what switch from low speed to hi speed. No freaking wonder I was burning up wires and fuses left and right. The fan was pushing air instead of pulling. Simple fix though. I switched the wires around and it works great.

However I did discover another problem which was an easy fix. The factory a/c clutch grounds to a driver side motor mount. When I pulled the mounts to put the longtube headers on, I should've cleaned the connection. My a/c was coming on sometimes and sometimes not. I cleaned the connection and fixed that also.
