This should be a no-brainer, but when I got to thinking about how much I could screw up if my guess is wrong - I'd better ask anyway:

Time to clean the BBK CAI air filter. I've still got a ton of K&N filter cleaner kit in my shed.

Does it make any difference who's cleaning product you use to clean the filter element? Should I use the red K&N oil with the BBK?

Thanks for any input.

If BBK makes a filter cleaner then I would use their product, especially if the color of the oil to reapply to the filter is a different color.

But red + blue = purple. Laughing
Kidding.

That's my gut feeling too - just checking to see if anyone knows for sure.
It seems like such a waste to toss it. I'll give it away to anyone with a K&N if I can't use it.

Go ahead and use the K&n stuff, but like stated hope you don't care about the color of it.
