|
|
So now that everything in my rearend is breaking in, I'm starting to knoice more noise. I knew there would be more NVH, but this sounds kinda funny to me. So to the guys that have/had spherical bushings, what exactly did it sound like? I just wanta make sure somthings not outa wack on my new setup. _________________

| I bet your thinking there's something loose back there. Did you do the entire rear with spherical bushings? I'd never recommend those for a DD, way too much noise. |

I was going to ask the same thing. Even if you did only spherical on the axle side it will be noisey.......can't imagine all the way around!!! _________________

no, i swaped it up after you told me I wouldn't like the solid bushings where the uppers mount to the rearend. So its polyurathane there with spherical where they mount to the body. And yes, it almost sounds like somthing's loose or rattling. Also, if I'm approaching an intersection and let off the gas and just coast, there's a slight noise. Not really a whine, but I dont know how to describe it. _________________

| Yeah, just my sperhical lowers transmits a lot more NVH than the stock control arms. Takes some time getting used to it, and even then, every so often you hit a weird bump in the road-"what was that?" lol |

Does the hardware fit tight inside the ball portion? Also did you make sure to tighten everything up with the suspension loaded? _________________

| I've heard of guys using grease to try and quiet them down. |

| I had them on my old Bullitt... Never again! The squeaked all the flipping time... Not to mention the car would beat you to death. My wife refused to ride in the car after solid upper and lowers..... |

I didn't put them on. I ordered at the same time I ordered my rearend stuff so Bud just put it all on while he had the rearend out. I got used to it now. One noise I had was the sound of the locker when I turned really slow, I just didnt think of it being that. The other was the bushing noise, just learned to live with it over time. _________________
