Dang it! My poor Cobra can't catch a break.

Tuesday AM I hear a loud thump. I go to the front door and my first concern is the guys doing construction across the street... 'did someone fall & get hurt?'

I look around and see nothing, except a woman getting out of a lipstick red Ford Ranger. I go back into the house, and as I'm walking I wonder... 'was that my car she hit?'

As I 180 towards the door again, she knocks on it.
I open it and she asks "did you hear that loud bang?"
I reply, "yeah, you didn't hit my car did you?"
She replies, "No, something rolled around in the bed of my truck. It scared me too."

I f'ed up. I believed her.
I go out to the Cobra about an hour later to find my mirror housing smashed, mirror laying on the ground under my car, and various scuffs down the side of it.

There may be a silver lining. My street isn't one that is highly traveled. She came back. My wife got her plate number & some photos. Wilmington's finest have received them. Hopefully they'll nail her for a hit and run.

Stacey... you guys are still doing body work? I have Progressive, but I'm not sure the damage will come even close to my deductible ($1000). When I get it done, I want it done right, since I'm paying for it.

Gah! I can't win. It's ugly enough that I'm ashamed to bring her to the CB Christmas Parade.

Sorry to hear brother! At least no one was hurt... though if she suffered a broken bone or two at least you would feel a bit vindicated! LOL! As for the CB Parade.. it is still up in the air as to our (WOT) envolvement this year due to varying reasons. We will keep ya'll posted.

UPDATE...

WE GOT HER!

Thanks to Wilmington's finest... and some handy detective work from my wife & neighbors (and the stupidity of the hit and lie and run woman).

My wife & neighbors were able to snap pictures of the vehicle and get the plate number.

The dumb bimbo wound up parking in front of my neighbor's house (literally in front of my Cobra) again tonight. The neighbor's wife wanted me to let her beat on the woman (who apparently is a psycho b*t(h).

So I called the police. An officer came out in 5 minutes (impressive).
She took my statement (see the original statement above).

This crazy chick tells the officer she came to my door to tell me she hit my vehicle, but there was no damage and that the only damage was to her vehicle. She lied her tail off.
But she got caught up in it. The officer asked her: so if you told him you hit his vehicle and gave him your information - why did he have to hunt you down to get your plate & vehicle description?

Yeah, she also walked away with a few tickets too.
I'm so looking forward to speaking with her adjuster soon. Yay.

Nice! You should also tell them that when she hit your car, she knocked your supercharger off and now she needs to buy you a new one! Lol
