What is the point of this. I havent a clue how a cable clutch works but I do know that having a hydraulic clutch was the biggest PITA in my 2 F-bodies because of the slave cylinder and the fact that there are no aftermarket ones that are stronger than stock.......I think I swapped my slave cylinder out 5 times. Is there any benefit to switching from cable to hydraulic?

I hate hydraulic clutches, you lose the feel of the clutch. And it's extremely expensive to swap over. Just stick with cable IMO.

Oh I wasnt planning on swapping. I just saw the new kit on American Muscle and figured I would ask about it. I think the kit was something like $600 or more and I just didnt see the Pro's to it.

The only pro would be for the guys who don't want to break their cables from slamming the clutch down into the ground.

Save the money and put it towards other mods. I still have the stock cable in mine and it's about to trip 100K (been in there for sure since 35K). And it's been down the track a few times, shifted hard.

I think a lot of the people with this clutch set up got it to ease the pedal effort. Some times the cable clutch can be a lil harsh, even worse with aftermarket clutches. My last trip to the track finished off my stock cable setup. The stock plastic piece where the cable goes through the firewall split in two and it wouldn't shift into gear at high RPMs. If you wanta do anything with your setup, get a stock FORD cable, and an aftermarket firewall adjuster and quadrant. You can do all 3 of these things for $100 or close to it.

Hopefully I can get some help swapping those when the time comes. I have never worked on a cable clutch.

I've worked on PLENTY of hydraulic clutch systems, they are a PAIN IN THE ASS. Don't do it man, you go from it being one of thee problems with the cable to one of a million with the hydraulic

Hell, replacing slave cylinders are cake, the most annoying part is bleeding the system after replacing that little shit. Who puts a slave cylinder on the input shaft, really gm?

bleeding the system is stupid easy on the 05's. just jack the front of the car up and pump the clutch pedal until it dosent get any stiffer. i have had 0 problems with my system and have only heard of one or two people who have had issues.
