i cant wait til i get my lt's and x pipe.... these need some compliments, not as loud as the flowmasters, and a little more high pitched. but very cool. and whoever installed the flows, tightened the heck out of the clamps. it was a real pain n the azz to take off.

alright, i have a question. i started my car in between my muffler swap last night. it sounded sick! incredibly loud. and i wanted to leave em off but my dad insisted on putting on the mufflers. he was a mechanic for a long time and worked on my uncles race car also, so i listen to what he says. he was tellin me engines r built to have a little back pressure which is y u shouldnt run straight pipes for any period of time. u could burn an exhaust valve. any comments. i dont have money or a warranty to cover the engine if its true. so id rather not take the chance unless there's no doubt that it wouldnt cause any problems.

it is true that newer engines do require some back pressure.... but if you want that "sick" sound sometimes get a set of electric exhaust cutouts....

I was always told that in order to burn or shatter a valve, it would have to get hot and then cool down rapidly, like when you run straight open headers... the way i see it, you should have enough exhaust pipe to keep it from cooling down too fast... just my opinion, im not telling you to do it or not, just what i have heard...

I'll check w/ NSI and see if I can get you a definite answer... but I don't think you should have a problem as long as you don't run it open all the time... and an "H" pipe should give you a little more back pressure than the "X" pipe... you might need to get a tune for that set-up

It's not too bad.... a lot easier if you have a lift... otherwise figure 2 hours or so and if you aren't working in a heated garage bring a heat gun or hair dryer so the dynamat sticks properly.... you don't have to take the driveshaft out but working around it was a pain.... pulling it out sucks too... so you decide
